mixedvb is a program that creates random mixed volleyball teams for a full court of 12 players. The men are on one roster and the women are on the second roster. Each team of three men and three women plays together only once in the same event. To simplify the program, the relationship with opposing players is random.
The performance of the program varies every time it is run, because of the random selection of partners. Sometimes the solution takes additional steps to complete. Sometimes it takes two minutes or longer to complete a solution.
Occasionally, the number of rounds varies, because of the random selection process. The program creates a minimum number of rounds, but sometimes it creates bonus rounds, because the selections fall into place.
Use the mixedvb.sh shell script to generate the pairing list.
Syntax:
mixedvb.sh 36
