The Node popup menu contains the following commands:
Start Data Flow creates a Data Flow starting from a Node. Such a Flow can end at a Store, Terminator or at a blank space.Small circles represent the position of the points. If you click on a space, the new point will be an intermediate point. A Flow can have a maximum of 30 points. To complete the Flow, click on the icon where the Flow is to end. If you want the Flow to end at a blank space, click twice at that point. If prompting is switched "on" for Flows, you are asked for the name of the Flow. If prompting is switched "off" for Flows you can add this information later, using the Alter command from the Flow pop-up menu.
Start Control Flow creates a Control Flow starting from a Node. Such a Flow can end at a Store, Terminator, Bar or at a blank space.Small circles represent the position of the points.
Alter enables you to create or modify the name of the Node. You can also change the Node number, if required.
Resize
Small. The icon is changed to the "small" size.
Medium. The icon is changed to the "medium" size.
Large. The icon is changed to the "large" size.
Shrink/Grow. Use the mouse to drag the icon to the required size.
Delete enables you to delete a Node and its Flows from the diagram. To undo the deletion, use Undo.
Edit Child Diagram opens a Flow Diagram Editor window containing the child Flow Diagram for the selected Node. In this way you can edit the child diagram whilst the parent diagram is on the screen. Use the Inherit Flows command as an aid when copying Flow names from the parent diagram to the child diagram. By doing this you can ensure that the Flows in the two diagrams are consistent.
Edit Mini Spec enables you to create or edit the Mini Specification of the selected Node. This command opens the Mini Spec Editor.
Show Traceability Links to
Modular Design opens the Autotracer for the chosen component. The Autotracer automatically displays the Traceability Links from the selected object to Modular Design objects. You can alter the selections in the Autotracer if you want to display the Traceability Links for different objects. If the Autotracer was already open when you used this command then the entries in the Autotracer are updated.
Task Design opens the Autotracer for the chosen component. The Autotracer automatically displays the Traceability Links from the selected object to Task Design objects. You can alter the selections in the Autotracer if you want to display the Traceability Links for different objects. If the Autotracer was already open when you used this command then the entries in the Autotracer are updated.
GUI Design opens the Autotracer for the chosen component. The Autotracer automatically displays the Traceability Links from the selected object to GUI Design objects. You can alter the selections in the Autotracer if you want to display the Traceability Links for different objects. If the Autotracer was already open when you used this command then the entries in the Autotracer are updated.
ShortCut (on selected platforms)
Compile compiles an executable file for the selected Node.
Edit GUI gives you access to the ShortCut Graphical User Interface editor.
Run runs the ShortCut prototype for the selected Node.
Status shows the status of the ShortCut model for the selected Node.
Check enables you to validate the selected Node based on the analyzer options. You must name the Node before you can carry out this command. To analyze the whole Requirements Model, use the Analyze command from the Requirements menu. When the analysis is complete an output window is displayed which contains a list of the errors found.
Annotations enables you to attach annotations to an object. The Annotation Selector is opened listing the Annotation types available for the object.
