Cities

The cities are the most important elements of the game. You can only build new units within your cities. Defending a small island with many cities is therefore more important than conquering a large continent with only a few cities.

Most cities are neutral when the game starts, i. e. they aren't controlled by any player (a city is neutral, when you approach it and now flag is displayed with the city). Neutral cities don't build units.

Every player starts with three cities and with one army in every city. Your cities have not started production at that stage. It is therefore important that you use the City Window to set up the production in your city in your first turn.

As soon as the production of a unit is finished, the unit will appear in that city. If you just continue producing that unit type in the city, the next unit will be produced with two bonus turns. Therefore, whenever you change the unit type produced in a city, you will loose at least two turns.

Neutral or enemy cities can be conquered by a land unit that moves into the city. There is however a 50 % chance that the unit will fail and loose a hit point. If the unit is successful, it will be removed from the map and serve as a new garnison for the city. The city is now yours and you can start building units in that city. Partially produced units and all other units present in a city will be lost when the city is conquered. Additional units in the city do NOT raise its defence strength!

Units that are no land units cannot enter or attack neutral or enemy cities.

Units that stop their move in one of your own cities (by using the STOP button) will be repaired, if necessary.
