Getting Started

The first step to getting started is to download and uncompress CheckBook Tracker.

Get the latest executable from http://tony.maro.net/

I know what you're thinking "But I'll need to compile it!  I don't see an RPM (or other appropriate package type) for my distribution!"  Not to worry, CBT doesn't care what distribution you are running, as long as it's Linux, you have GTK+, and it's Intel architecture (yes, AMD is considered Intel architecture for this.)

Uncompress the package using your favorite archive utility, or from a command line do:

tar -zxvf cbtracker-[VERSION].tar.gz

Replace [VERSION] with your version number - in other words, use tar -zxvf followed by the name of the file you downloaded.
