Start with F12 or ENTER
Stop with any key (pref. ESCAPE)

F1-F11

Start with resp. key
Stop with ESCAPE key

:TONE

0 = sidetone off
1 = cw off
2- 199 = weight control in ms.
> 199 = sidetone frequency

This function can also be controlled from the shell using:
cwkeyset [tone] [speed]

Left-Arrow, Right-Arrow

You can see the band in the log line (to the left of the input field) and in the score window (if on). Band change is active when call input field is empty.

When there is a call in the input field, left_arrow enters call edit mode in "overwrite" mode. Leave edit mode with ESCAPE or any key other then [A-Z,a-z,0-9].

ENTER

The function of the ENTER key is dependant on several things:

:
S&P Mode: Input field empty: send mycall
Call in input field: 1. call station (repeat with F1)
2. send S&P TU message
CQ ModeInput field empty Start Auto_CQ
Call in input field: 1. send F2 message (call + exchange)
2. send CQ TU message

;

Enter note in log. ";" will open a window to type the text into.
Close the window with ENTER. Your text will appear in the log with a leading ";".

,

Start keyboard mode. The keyboard works in word mode. You can correct the last word, which will be sent to the outside world as soon as you have typed a SPACE or ENTER.
Return to LOG mode with ESCAPE. This will also stop your message in mid-air.

- (hyphen)

Delete last qso from the log. Will also decrease the qso number by 1.

@

Edit last qso. Will delete the last qso from the log and recall the other station's call and exchange into the input field.

=

sends "CALL OK"

_(Underscore)
Send "LASTCALL" ok

:view

Lets you view the log with the LESS command. Use Page-up and Page-down to scroll, HOME and END, and Q to go back to TLF.

:edit

:Edit drops you into "joe". Use Ctrl-K V to go to the end of the log, Ctrl-K x writes the changes, and Ctrl-K q gets you back into TLF without changing anything.

:list

Lists the CW messages in case you have forgotten what F3 stands for.

:message

You can edit the messages under F1 to F12. C is the CQ MODE TU Message, S is the S&P MODE TU message. End with ENTER.

Use % for MYCALL, @ for HISCALL, and # for SERIAL NR.

:set
Lets you set the logfile name, your call and which contest you are in.
Version 0.3.1 supports: cqww, wpx, sprint, dxped and qso.
:write

This is used to generate a cabrillo output file from your log.
It asks the relevant questions and (hopefully) generates a file called "cabrillo" containing your qso's.
Rename to "YOURCALL.CBR" and email it to CQ.

!

Gives you a subshell to do all sorts of nasty things to your computer without leaving TLF. Come back with "exit".

:contest

Switches TLF into contest mode.
Enables the score window.
....

:check

Check function. It basically does a grep on the log with the content of the input field as an argument, and sorts it per band.
It leaves its content in a file called "results". You can view this with "!", "less results", "exit".

:score

Toggles the score window on and off. The function of the score window is different for every contest.
Q/M: Qso's per multiplier
Rate: Rate over last 10 qso's
Score: Total number of points.

:cluster

Switches the cluster monitor window on in raw mode. The info can be filtered (:filter), change the script "filterline" to your liking.
It uses the normal grep function on your system.
The monitor window reads its input from a file called "clfile".
There are numerous ways to get the input from the cluster into "clfile" (using tee, screen, even minicom).
The cluster monitor window(s) update every 5 seconds.

:spots

Shows the last 10 spots in a window. Removes a lot of clutter from your screen.

:map

Shows the last 10 spots in a window. Map follows the band switch, so you get only the last 10 spots for the band you are on.

:cloff

Stops showing any cluster info.

:mult

Show country multipliers per continent and band. Leave with any key.

:zone

Toggles zones worked display (per band).

Check/search display

This display pops up as soon as you enter 3 characters into the call input field. The display is different per contest.
Checks if you already worked the station on this or another band. The line is RED if it is a dupe. Basic display is CALL, SERIAL Nr and EXCHANGE. Also shows if you already worked this country or zone on what band. The window disappears automagically as soon as the input field is empty, or if something interesting happens.

:exit

Leaves the program. Removes the tx queue (txfile) and the temporary files. This does not happen if you leave tlf with Ctrl-C, but tlf handles this correctly at restart. No qso's are forgotten, the score is kept, as well as the most important parameters. (Test it anyway ;-))
