 * Mark Crichton's 1.9Mb (uncompressed) diff between the 
   full release and my unofficial gimp source archive.  He tells
   me it might not contain the gflare plugin .tar.gz

15/8/97:  gimp-0.99.pre11-3.5.tar.gz

 * some people reported problems compiling pre11-3 and I think that was
   because of the stupid way I archived it in the first place.
 * added gflare plugin which I accidentally left out of pre11-3
 * you will probably need autoconf in order to compile this.  No idea 
   because I haven't actually tested it yet - it should be fine though
 * made a "bzip" tar archive at the request of a few people - as you can
   see from a "ls -l" bzip compresses a lot better.

 * another couple of patches from Larry Ewing
 * all the plugins from the registry with the exception of the possibly
   illegal-to-distribute SGI file plugins, and dbbrowser (which is kinda
   tricky to put in with this brain-dead GNU autoconf system)
