                             knsbookmark

convert Netscape bookmark file in a kfm bookmark tree

This tool started as a quick hack to have my bookmarks collected with Netscape
also available with KFM. So it is just a commandline tool and probably will
stay one because there is little need for a gui.

If the structure of the Netscape bookmark file changes (tested with
Communicator 4.0, 4.5 and OS/2 Navigator 2.0) the search/replace behavior of
knsbookmark must be adapted accordingly.

By default knsbookmark is installed into the K-menu under Internet
to convert ~/.netscape/bookmarks.html to ~/.kde/share/apps/kfm/bookmarks.

To install, proceed as usual:

 configure
 su
make install-so # IMPORTANT: first install libexpat.so if needed
make install # afterwards install knsbookmark
 make distclean

If you have any problems with converting and can't find the place, use
the option -w to dump the intermediate xml file and have a look at the stuff
fed to the parser. knsbookmark reports the line number and column when it
finds an error.

After converting you have to logout/login to make kfm show the new
bookmarks. A "Restart" from the K-menu is not enough (tested with KDE1.0pre).

Happy browsing,
