Subject: [*] ClippingNamer update
Finder clippings are a wonderful idea that most people don't use because
they're such a pain to deal with. Ever tried to find the right clipping
among a bunch of "Text Clipping 1", "Text Clipping 2", etc? It's not too
bad with one clipping, but more than a couple leads to long sessions in
the Finder assigning useful names, wasting the time you saved.
ClippingNamer helps you manage clippings. Without leaving your current
program, you can:
* Automatically assign a new name based on the (text) clipping contents.
* Automatically create a thumbnail image (icon) for picture clippings.
* Popup a dialog that lets you see both ClippingNamer's and the Finder's
suggested names, and use either one or a new name you type.
* NEW - Save text or picture clippings as SimpleText files instead.
* NEW - Append text clippings to existing files/clippings instead of
creating new.
You can set any of these modes (or none) as the default, and invoke any
of the others with modifier keys (completely customizable). There are
several other convenience options as well.
UPDATE: Version 1.1 fixes a bug that caused renamed clippings to move
around on the Desktop under OS8. It also adds the save to file and
append features.
v1.1.2 fixes a problem on some machines where the factory preferences got
lost, resulting in nothing happening regardless of hotkeys.
ClippingNamer is $10 shareware. See

products. Contact the author at

Marathon Infinity "Done Right" Physics Model
This is not one of those cheapass wave-motion-cannon physics models
that make the game no fun. This doesn't really change gameplay to the
harder or easier (well, some weapons do have a little bit more bite,
but not that much). It is highly reccomended both for solo and net
play, and while I'm a keyboarder, I'm sure the mousers will like the
three-round-burst mode and the heavy assault weapon.

Drop Zone is a little program that I wrote while learning the Drag &
Drop interface. Drop Zone acts as a storage space for text and pictures
while you work. Each zone has eight boxes to store an item in each. Text

with any drag and drop aware program that supports text and pictures.
Programs such as ClarisWorks or CodeWarrior work well with Drop Zone.
Drop Zone also supports styled text.

Subject: [*] MacRun 1.2
One of the biggest challenges that the MacOS faces in today's marketplace is
the idea that Windows is better because "it can do things that the Mac
can't." While most of us know this is not entirely true, there is a
mentality out there that is very difficult to overcome. The MacOS can do
most of the things Windows can, and in many cases can do them better.
However, believe it or not, I have heard many people complain that they
don't like to use the MacOS because it doesn't have a "Run" function.
Phooey! The "Run" function of Windows is one of the most inefficient things
I've ever seen when it comes to computer interface design. However, I'm not
going to ignore the "Windoze Whiners." In this case, I'm going to one-up
them.
MacRun is my answer. It, very simply, adds the same functionality to the
MacOS that the "Run..." command gives Windows. It is also much more
configurable than its Windows counterpart as well as much more powerful.
When installed, MacRun will appear very familiar to those Windows users that
desire the "Run..." command. After a bit of use, they won't know how they
could ever stand the Windoze "Run..." command!
Version 1.2 adds the ability to open internet addresses as well as folders.
MacRun requires a 68020 Mac running System 7.5 (7.1 with Thread Manager
installed)
or better. Future updates to MacRun will be available at the SearchWare
Solutions web-site (http://www.radiks.net/search).

Subject: [*] MyEyes 2.3 (final version)
MyEyes 2.3 final
What is MyEyes?
MyEyes is a small extension that draws on the menubar a pair of eyes
constantly following the cursor movement.
Using a control panel you can modify almost every aspect of the eyes
(color, position, behaviour).
MyEyes also supports plug-ins (External Eyes Sets), giving users the
opportunity of designing their own eyes icons and/or use icons made
by other people.
What's new in MyEyes 2.3
The final 2.3 version includes all changes and fixes from the previous beta
versions plus:
- Fixed missing Balloon Help for the popup menu in the Control Panel's
Info dialog.
- Fixed missing Low Memory alert in the Control Panel.
Main changes and fixes from version 2.2.2
General:
- Recompiled with CodeWarrior=AE Professional release 3.
- Completely rewritten in C/C++.
- Mac OS 7.1 or later is now required for running MyEyes.
- Added support for Conflict Catcher=81 4.1 vendor information format.
- New External Eyes Sets: "Comic Eyes".
- Updated External Eyes Sets: "Egyptian Eye".
Control Panel specific:
- The setup application is now a Control Panel item (in fact, an
application control), with an almost completely redesigned interface and a
new icon.
- Now External Eyes Sets are selected from a scrolling list in the
Settings dialog. The list shows custom Set icons and supports full keyboard
navigation and selection.
- Now developers can associate default preferences to External Eyes
Sets requiring specific settings to work properly (see the "About External
Eyes Sets" file for details).
- Now External Eyes Sets can be automatically installed into the "Eyes
Sets" folder and activated when double-clicked in the Finder. Double
clicking an Eyes Set already located into the MyEyes Sets folder makes it
active.
- Under Allegro (Mac OS 8.5) Eyes Sets dropped on the System Folder are
automatically routed to the MyEyes Sets folder.
- Two new buttons have been added to the Settings dialog. The "Default"
button applies 'factory settings' to the currently selected Eyes Set. The
button named "Use Current Set Preferences" restores current Set's default
preferences.
- Added the "Select All" item to the Edit menu.
- Now the Edit menu items are enabled/disabled consistently with the

Subject: [*] PowerReplace 6.5; a text conversion utility
Announcing the release of PowerReplace 6.5! PowerReplace is a powerful
text conversion utility. It does the conversion using a small file called
"Filter". The syntax of filter is very easy to understand. PowerReplace is
also an utility to build text conversion application. It can create small
stand-alone daughter-application called "SelfReplace", who makes your
favorite conversion more easily and efficiently.
PowerReplace can replace character (including NULL, CR, LF, TAB) or string
by any other string. By use of the asterisk-sign(*) representing any
indeterminate string, it can replace also a string only whose two
extremities are known. It supports all character set, hexadecimal string
and regular expression(pattern) for find/replace.
New features (ver. 6.3 -> 6.5):
- Add Filter List window to manager filters. Filter Menu is obsolete.
PowerReplace remembers filter by alias instead of its name, so you can
put filters everywhere you like.
- You can drag your favorite filters into the Filter List window.
- Better text editor: auto-scrolling and scrolling using the Home, End,
PageUp or PageDown keyboard navigation keys.
- Better progress bar.
- Fixed a minor bug in the replace engine, more detailed error messages.
- Faster when working with folders.
System requirements:
- System 7.1
- Any Macintosh

creating text conversion utility, called "Filter". To use
filter to do the conversion, just drag and drop input text

[Easy to use] Using a bi-style editor, it doesn't use any
special character unlike classical system. You can
write " \ CR and TAB directly in your filter.
An assistant helps you to edit filter. Non programmers as

expression(pattern). Insert variables in the output text
files. Preferences for selecting input files.

You have saved a web page from Netscape as TEXT or as

missing for french accent letters, the format isn't compatible
with your database or your text editor, you need to extract
only a few lines, or any PC/Mac/Unix file format problem,
multi-columns problem, tabulation and space problems...

- Added sub-filter support. See Manual Chapter 6, Filter

- Added red character ',' for any character except the CR.
- Scrolling now possible using the Home, End, PageUp or
PageDown keyboard navigation keys.

- Rewrote Manual and included it in the application.
No web browser needed to read it.
- Moved the settings pane to the filter window as a popup
menu and make it part of the filter.

including pictures.

or computer.
