The game was also available for the C64, Atari ST, and Amiga, but never for the Macintosh. Bub & Bob is a 90% clone of the classic game, designed and programmed to run on the Mac. Bub & Bob can be played alone or together with another human player. You are a little green or blue dinosaur with the ability to blow bubbles out your mouth. Your aim is to catch the deadly balls in level 100. So you have to play through all the 99 levels to get there. Some levels are much easier to play if you play in the two player mode. So you can say that the other player is your partner in most cases, in some cases he's your rival, for example if a big fruit appears that gives an extra score. System Requirements Bub & Bob needs 4,2 MB free RAM. It runs both Power-Mac native and on the older 68k Macs. A Mac with at least a 68040-processor is recommended, though I couldn't test it on slower machines. Unlike using the Address Book directly as a data source, you can use the DMM's Query Options to further refine and organize the data file. Obviously, eQuery requires Microsoft Entourage 2001 and Microsoft Word 2001. It should work with Mac OS versions 8.5 through 9.x, and possibly with earlier versions of the Mac OS as well. eQuery is ShareWare and only costs $10.00 (US); it can be registered through Kagi.com's secure server. Kinetic Creations' Export Icon Plug-in version 1.5 Export Icon is an Adobe Photoshop (r) plug-in which exports a Photoshop image directly from Adobe Photoshop to a custom icon file. The plug-in uses the Photoshop image's pixel data to create 4, 8, and 32 bit icons. It uses the image's transparency data to create the icon's 1 and 8 bit masks. Changes: * Added support for "Huge" (48x48 pixel) and "Thumbnail" (128x128 pixel) icons * Fixed a crashing bug in the previously released 1.5 public beta version System requirements: * Any Apple MacOS capable computer with at least a 68020 processor * Adobe Photoshop (r) * System 7.5 or higher (tested up through system 9.0.4) License: This is a fully-working, 10 free trials version which is converted to the full version (with a key) after purchase. Fetch-O-Matic allows web authors to freely create and update files locally without needing to keep track of their work, and to then automatically catalog the alterations and update the website. It also performs synchronization in the other direction, watching a remote location and automatically downloading any new or changed files appearing there. It provides seamless integration with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe GoLive, and similar website authoring packages, offering more robust and more flexible handling of file transfers. And if several people are maintaining a site, Fetch-O-Matic protects them from treading on each other's updates. Fetch-O-Matic differs from other available synchronization and maintenance schemes in that it does not require any local machine to have a complete site copy. For example, one might decide to grab a few pages and change them (and/or add some new files) from a PowerBook. Later, the site copy on the primary machine can be quickly brought up-to-date with just two clicks - without having to remember what was changed or consult the PowerBook. Fetch-O-Matic is easy to use. Novice web authors in search of a simple way to update a personal web page need not be intimidated by its power. Experienced hands will find that previously dreaded operations such as multi-file search and replace, with the subsequent headache of tracking down and uploading scattered altered files, are rendered painless. Transfer errors such as uploading/downloading to the wrong directory are a thing of the past. Fetch-O-Matic was conceived and developed to fill a need in servicing a large site (http://www.filmscouts.com). Uploads and downloads of thousands of files at once have been performed with ease. But even on a site with just a few pages, Fetch-O-Matic will ease the updating chores. Not just for websites, Fetch-O-Matic handles a range of FTP file transfer operations, including continuous local and remote folder watching and synchronization. It is in use as an FTP tool by news organizations, webcam operators, and project co-ordinators in a wide variety of situations worldwide. It is also a database including information about your system environment. You see not only some technical infos but also understandable interpretation of most codes (in English). GestLab main goal is to maintain the more exhaustive Gestalt selector database. When using it, if your configuration is displaying info not yet in the database (what it is very easy to realize, this info is displayed in red), don't hesitate to send it to me: I'll analyse it and update the database for the next release. Your collaboration is essential in this domain. GestLab 1.2 works only on Mac OS 8.6 or more. This version is able to install automatically a new database downloaded from the author's Web site (if Aladdin's StuffIt Engine is present). With version 1.2 is included GestLabXCapt, a tool that allows to capture a GestLab configuration under Mac OS X, and the database #12 that works with GestLabXCapt. Thank goodness we *don't* have some central authority-- would you nominate Bill Gates or Larry Ellison?-- telling us which shareware programs are acceptable or unacceptable, or which have been done in the past, or which are obviously superior to our puny efforts. Instead, kids (and grownups) who have a project that they're proud of can post it here and get some publicity and feedback. Perhaps their next program will be better, or at least more unique. The ones that survive, and are popular enough for the author to support, will go through multiple versions and will thereby get more airtime. May I suggest that you simply *ignore* products that you aren't interested in, or which offend your sensibilities? You can also get a USB or firewire box (power supply and interface included), and drop in your own drive-- which are all IDE, I'm sorry to say. If you have one already, and it's an external or internal SCSI drive, you'll need a SCSI card for your G4. Apple dropped SCSI hardware some time ago.
