It was some 3d ftp program with a 68k and ppc version. I've searched the info-mac archive, but found nothing. I've searched via alta-vista, but nothing came up via that either. Does anyone know where this program is stored??? please email me at craigus@bigfoot.com if you know cheers Moz - Windows 95: n. 32-bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company that can't stand for 1 bit of competition. band webpage: http://www.elusivetones.co.nz band email: mailto:elusivetones@email.com webpage: http://www.geocities.com/moznz/ email: mailto:craigus@bigfoot.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jun 2000 02:37:57 -0700 From: Wagner Truppel To: digest@info-mac.org Subject: [Q] reasonable price for a used Mac? Howdy folks, I'm considering selling my 3-yr old PowerComputing PowerCenter Pro 180. I originally paid $1800 for it. An year ago I spent $500 on a G3 upgrade card to boost it to a 300 MHz. How much can I reasonably/realistically ask for it? I tried searching for sites on the web which would have that kind of info, but had no luck. I'd greatly appreciate if people would give me some idea of prices to ask and/or pointers to web sites where I could find them out. Thanks in advance! Not just iMacs, Bill, I have been noticing the same kind of misbehaviour with my beige G3 266 since upgrading from OS8.5.5 to OS9.0.4. I wondered whether it was something to do with Sherlock busily updating its index, but I actually wouldn't have a clue. On the other hand, OS9.0.4 seems generally very good; certainly a lot of old programs (e.g. MORE 3.1) run fine on it, whereas some were a bit flakey under OS8.5.5. -- cheers, geoff Geoffrey Heard - GH&A Public Relations Demand Indonesia return the 100,000 East Timorese held in limbo in West Timor. I suggest you go to Apple's Tech Info Library and just enter search for DHCP and read the first couple of articles that show up. Hope this helps! With it you can test the RAM and do some other interesting things (you need to be able to boot the troublesome machine though). Not surprisingly, Mac OS help isn't, and >restarting makes no difference. Is "ShareWay IP Personal Bgnd" missing from your extensions folder? I had this problem and that was the cause. If I remember correctly turning on balloon help and pointing at the greyed out check box gave me the information necessary to fix the problem. If your problem is something other than this extension missing you might try that. My problem now is that this setting won't stay on. I can turn on TCP/IP file sharing, but whenever I reboot it gets turned off again. I can turn it on again for that boot, but it goes off again when I reboot.
