Other Changes:
    * reworked the GUI strings to make their
      meaning and scope clearer for the user
    * reworked the GError error strings so
      they can be translated and marked them
      for translation
    * unified many of the old error strings
      so similar errors yield similar messages
      (also eases the translation process)
